The hosts put in a dominant performance right from minute one as soon Cian Hosie raised the first white flag inside 20 seconds. Seneschalstown were ahead throughout, except for a brief period early on where the Kells men hit 1-01 to pull themselves level.

The start of an extremely busy seven days for Seneschalstown’s Under 15’s got off to a positive start when they defeated Donaghmore/Ashbourne in the second round of the O’Reilly & Co. Solicitors Under 15 Football Championship Division 1, played in Fr. Tully Park on Wednesday night. As the Dublin border outfit arrived with only 14 players, the game was played with as many a-side, meaning there was extra space available around the pitch.

From the moment Cian Commons found the Donaghmore/Ashbourne net inside 15 seconds of the throw-in, Seneschalstown were never headed as they booked their place in the final of the U15 Football League Division 1. This early strike provided Seneschalstown with a cushion throughout, and some resolute defending coupled with clinical counter attacking ensured the team will face St. Colmcille’s in next week’s final.
