Meath B League Division 5 Round 3

St. Vincent’s 6-12 Seneschalstown 2-06

A lunchtime throw in on Mother’s Day proved unconducive for a large player turnout as Seneschalstown arrived in Ardcath with numbers thin on the ground for their Junior D side.

Due to this the game ended up throwing in with both sides having just thirteen players on the field and with the Yellow Furze side only having a handful of last year’s team in action. St. Vincent’s went in at the interval with a very commanding 3-07 to 0-02 lead but Seneschalstown will feel this should have been much closer as they had missed a few goal opportunities including when Mark Gleeson was very unlucky to see his shot ricochet off the crossbar.

While the Ardcath men did continue to tag on the scores in the second half Seneschalstown’s performance level did improve as they added 2-04 to their first half total as youngster Eoin Finnegan along with Gleeson did their upmost to spark a fire up front while Adam Gargan and Shane Corbally led the efforts to put the fires out at the other end.

Seneschalstown Scorers: Eoin Finnegan 1-02, Mark Gleeson 1-02, David Gordon 0-01, Paul Finnegan 0-01.

Seneschalstown: Brian Kelly, Shane Corbally, Adam Gargan, Daniel McLoughlin, Cormac Mullen, Ian Carey, Francis Sheridan, Eddie Meade, Mark Gleeson, Thomas Duggan, Shane Mulvany, Eoin Finnegan, David Gordon.

Seneschalstown Substitutions: Paul Finnegan for M. Gleeson, Mark Gleeson for I. Carey.
