Cantwell continued with his bright start when he put the away side into the lead with a fine effort of his right peg.

Simonstown then replied with a goal and two points before Phillip Sheridan was denied a certain goal by an excellent save by the Simonstown keeper, Gordon added the resultant forty five to keep the travelling team in touch and Ryan O’Dowd finished the Seneschalstown scoring for the half but another rack of points from the home side left them leading 1-09 to 0-05 at the break.

The second half was hard fought and Seneschalstown’s hard work was reward when Darren Englishby rounded off an excellent team move by scoring a goal, sliding the ball under the keeper after a great move involving Eoghan Noonan, Gordon, Tommy Ledwidge and O’Dowd. O’Dowd kicked another point from play and one from a free to round off the travelling sides scoring but Simonstown’s numbers provide the key as they finished strong eventually pulling away to a large victory.
