Having already met this year in the Summer League when Wolfe Tones were victorious, Seneschalstown and the Tones renewed acquaintances in the U-14 Division 2 Cup on Thursday evening when on this occasion the home side came out on top.

Having already met this year in the Summer League when Wolfe Tones were victorious, Seneschalstown and the Tones renewed acquaintances in the U-14 Division 2 Cup on Thursday evening when on this occasion the home side came out on top.

Both teams traded points in the first few minutes and then Sean Commons scored the first goal of the but Tones replied immediately with a goal of their own but then Seneschalstown began to get control of their individual battles with Joseph Moore and Cathal Hickey working tirelessly in midfield the supply to the forward line increased and so did the scoring chances with points from Alan Carey and Simon Rooney and with goals from Sean Commons Luke Holohan, Cathal Hickey gave Seneschalstown some breathing space and with Daire Walsh rock solid in goals and Padraig Finegan, Jamie Kirwan and Liam Maguire marshalling the defence and Seanie Dalton linking up the back and forwards and so cutting out the Tones attacks.

In the second half Seneschalstown got an early goal and with Cillian Lawlor Josh Ryan and Woodley Nicholson driving forward from back line the supply of ball to the forwards increased and so did the scores with goals from Sean Commons, Joseph Moore, and Ross Mullen along with further points from Luke Holohan put the game beyond a brave tones team to their credit never gave up, but the Seneschalstown lads were not going to be deprived tonight and now go onto the semi-final to play O’Mahony’s or Round Towers.
