Meath Ladies Minor
The counties Minor Ladies made the short spin to Mullingar a profitable one on Saturday when they overcame their Westmeath counterparts by 4-06 to 1-08. Róisín Commons started at full back with Natasha Mullen at wing back while Kiah Geraghty was a substitute.

Meath Ladies U-16

Meath Ladies U-14
Meath Ladies took on Dublin on Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the Leinster U-14 Championship and despite a scintillating second half comeback they ultimately came up just short as they lost out by 3-10 to 5-02.
Playing into the wind in the first half they trailed by 2-05 to 1-00 but an improved second half showing saw them come very close to an epic comeback.
Aoibhe Monaghan started at left corner back with twin sister Caragh introduced at half time. Lauren Donnelly was also introduced during the course of the game. Lauren McCarthy and Orla Finnegan didn’t see any action today but will have a vital role to play in future games.

Coaching Course
Under guidelines being implemented by the GAA’s Árd Comhairle all Club Management teams must contain an Award 1 coach from this year on.
A large number of our coaches already have this achievement but to help more of our coaches achieve it we are delighted to be hosting an Award 1 Coaching Course suitable for Children’s teams up to U-12. This course will commence on February 29th in the clubhouse.
The Award 1 Course is the next step on from the Foundation Award. Modules cover communication, building and breaking skills, physical literacy, team play and more.
All modules have to be attended to receive full certification and participants must have completed the Foundation Award.
Booking through Jenny Rispin on 087 7811215 or email jenny.rispin.gda.meath@gaa.ie
The cost is €70 per person while if four people from the club attend one place will be free (4 for the price of 3).

Colleges Football
There was great delight in the club last Saturday as news broke from Belfast that two of our players had secured All Ireland medals while playing with their third level colleges.

Shane Mulvany was part of the Marino Institute of Education team that won the Corn na Mac Léinn with victory over University of Ulster Magee by 5-21 to 1-08. Then soon after John Smith started at corner back for Dundalk Institute of Technology as they won the Trench Cup with a victory over Waterford Institute of Technology by 1-14 to 1-08.

Congratulations to both players.
