Meath Ladies Senior
Meath Ladies entertained Donegal last Sunday in Round 4 of the Lidl National Football League and following an improved performance lost out by 3-17 to 3-08.

Stacey Grimes lined out at right half forward and as well as kicking two points Stacey covered every blade of grass in a hugely industrious performance.

As well as Stacey we were also represented by Amy Gilsenan who made her senior inter-county debut as a second half substitute.

The following is a piece published on our Facebook page last Sunday following Amy’s debut –
“Today was a very proud day for one of our best players as Amy Gilsenan made her Senior debut for the Meath Ladies in their League defeat to Donegal.
Amy has always been regarded as a diamond of a player and this is a due reward for the very hard work she has put in since injuring her cruciate ligament almost two years ago playing for the county minors.
Now part of the senior set up with her fellow diamond Stacey Grimes who kicked two points today we have little doubt that Amy will go on to terrorise inter county defenders for many years to come.
A proud day for all of us here in the club but in particular for the Gilsenan family to see Amy don the Meath jersey.”

Next up for the Ladies is the short spin to Mullingar where they take on Westmeath in Round 5 of the Lidl National Football League on Sunday at 14:00 in St. Lomans GAA grounds.

Meath Ladies U-16
Meath teams haven’t beaten Dublin at too many levels of late but last Saturday the U-16 Girls managed just that feat when overcoming the Jackeens by 6-06 to 3-07 in Dunganny.

Two of our best and brightest talents were part of the panel for the day in Aoife Lenehan and Sorcha Gough and lining out at right corner forward Sorcha was to have an excellent game as she caused the Dublin defence a litany of problems and helped herself to 1-02 over the hour.

Meath Ladies U-14
Meath Ladies took on Dublin on Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the Leinster U-14 Championship and despite a scintillating second half comeback they ultimately came up just short as they lost out by 3-10 to 5-02.
Playing into the wind in the first half they trailed by 2-05 to 1-00 but an improved second half showing saw them come very close to an epic comeback.
Aoibhe Monaghan started at left corner back with twin sister Caragh introduced at half time. Lauren Donnelly was also introduced during the course of the game. Lauren McCarthy and Orla Finnegan didn’t see any action on Saturday but will have a vital role to play in future games.

St. Patrick’s School Navan
Best of luck to Alan Mulvany, Brian Maguire, Cathal Finnegan, Dylan Keating and all the St. Pats Junior Panel who take on St. Mary’s Edenderry in the Leinster Junior A Final in St. Lomans Mullingar on Friday at 13:30.

Brian has the honour of captaining the panel and they’ll be looking to add to Leinster Championship to the North Leinster one which they’ve already secured.

Team of the Week.
Commencing last week, we now select a Team of the Week each Monday on our Facebook page based on the different sides in action over the previous seven days.

The inaugural selection was as follows – Robyn Murray (U-14 Girls), Ruairí Keogh (Junior A), Tom McDonnell (U-12), Danny Waters (U-12), Zoe Kirwan (U-14 Girls), Sam Kirwan (U-12), Colin Walsh (Junior A), Neil Darby (Junior A), Ben Lynagh (U-12), Stacey Grimes (Meath Seniors), Mallaidh Breen (U-14 Girls), Rob Darby (Junior A), Sorcha Gough (Meath U-16’s), Eoin Finnegan (Junior A), Ella Kilfeather (U-14 Girls).

Player of the Week
Following on from the Team of the Week we now also announce a Player of the Week on Tuesdays and this week’s winner was Colin Walsh.

Colin is the type of player loved equally by coaches, supporters and teammates. Never gives anything less than an 8/10 performance and is always there willing and able to offer support to the player in possession as well as performing his primary defensive role.
A star of last year’s Minor & Junior D Championship wins he continued in that vein of form against Duleek/Bellewstown.

Last Man Standing Update
Three rounds later in the National Football League, and there have already been a number of surprises! Donegal and Dublin have taken Division 1 by storm, with Mayo proving to be a stubborn opposition to both outfits. The dark horses in Division 1 this year seems to be Roscommon, after the Rossies put Cork to the sword and overcame Kerry in an enthralling encounter.
Our very own Royal County has struggled to get a grips on Division 2, with only 2 points after 3 games. They are one of five teams currently on 2 points, with Tyrone leading the flock at the top.
With regards to our “Last Man Standing” competition, it is survival of the fittest as only 25 participants have been left standing.
Seneschalstown GFC would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the fundraising campaign, including the buyers and the sellers, which will help to fund the senior team in the upcoming year.

Club Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 7, 11 16 and 27. There was no winner of the jackpot of €10,000 which means next week’s jackpot will once more be worth €10,000. The 5 by €25 winners were Angela Grey, Francis Dunne, Ray Gargan, Killian Duggan and Damien McDonnell.
Tickets for the Lotto are €2 or 3 for €5. They can be purchased from committee members, Lotto sellers, local shops or you can also play online at http://www.helpourclub.ie/localhome.asp?
